Evolution is the branch of biology that refers to all the changes that have caused the diversity of living things on Earth, from its origins to the present. Today biologists are convinced by the accumulated evidence that all living forms, including humans, emerged gradually in the course of Earth history, and that all organisms arose from primitive forms simplified.
